Lesson 8

Project

For this project, I assembled most of my own images that I took through my digicam (with the image of the mother and child silhouette in the middle being the exception) to tell a story. It's meant to display feelings of nostalgia, melancholy, and grief. All these images capture the places that I grew up in from childhood. The main concept or message that I tried to depict is the kind of grief you feel when you look back on your past memories: memories of my childhood self, my parents for who they used to be and how much they've tried, and the childlike innocence and unawareness that's eventually fleeting once you grow up. Overall, I attempted to assemble it in a vintage scrap-book like collage that tells my own personal visual story.
